Background and Alternatives Explored:
Three critical Variable Frequency Drives should be upgraded with expanded capability and reliability. These drives run the main influent pumps at the Wastewater Treatment Facility. Any failure of the VFDs results in all of Missoula’s sewage to stop flowing and back up in the collection system. The upgraded drives have the capability to be reset remotely. This type of drive is the current standard for the Wastewater Utility and the Water Utility. Neely Electric is providing these parts because of their knowledge of the Plant and the need to specify the particular drive model. They are the vendor we use for all of these issues. They know our equipment and provide 24/7 on-call support to keep the facility operational at all times.
Financial Implications:
Sewer Funds will be used to fund this project.
